Funding to help Foundation House establish new office in Dallas
At an offical visit to Foundation House’s Brunswick headquarters on November 29, Minister for Mental Health, Martin Foley announced that Foundation House would receive additional funding to assist with the establishment of a new office in Dallas in Melbourne’s north.
The $200K funding is in addition to existing State Government support and will further enable Foundation House to provide counselling and casework services, complementary therapies and other services to a growing client group in the northern suburbs. It is anticipated that an additional 4000 refugees from Syria and Iraq will settle in Victoria in coming months and years and many of these people are expected to settle in the north of Melbourne.
Speaking while touring Foundation House facilities with CEO Paris Aristotle AM and other staff, Minister Foley said “Victoria’s community and mental health services offer safe and welcoming places for refugees to share their stories, to recover and restore hope.”
