Schools Support Program works with primary and secondary schools to support staff in their work with students and families of a refugee background. The program develops and maintains relationships with teaching professionals whilst working collaboratively within existing program frameworks to implement capacity building and change processes. Our innovative program resource School’s In for Refugees: A whole-school approach to supporting students and families of refugee backgrounds (SIFR) supports schools and school-based professionals in their efforts to provide a high quality education to young people of refugee backgrounds. About the role
User feedback has informed the requirement to re-develop the SIFR resource to make it more readily accessible and flexible to address the needs of various audiences. This role will undertake stage one of the re-development, by updating and editing the current SIFR, and categorising it into modules based on Foundation House’s Recovery Goals. You will work with others in the School support Program and Foundation House to revise and re-write content of SIFR.
We are seeking an experienced writer who will be able to gain an understanding of the existing material and related frameworks to review, re-develop and create new content for the SIFR resource. You will work closely with the project team to create categories in line with existing frameworks that ensure the resource is flexible and meets the needs of the education system audience.
About Foundation House
The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. (Foundation House) provides a range of services to people in Victoria who have been subject to torture or other traumatic events prior to their arrival in Australia. This group includes refugees and asylum seekers. It is non-denominational, politically neutral and non-aligned.
Salary and Benefits
Remuneration is based on our Enterprise Agreement 2014 up to $88,070 gross per annum pro rata. Benefits include generous salary packaging, leave loading, a range of flexible working options and a highly supportive team environment.
