2016 Training Calendar ready to go
The Foundation House 2016 Training Calendar is now available. Click here to read it.
Since its inception in 1987, one of the core objectives of Foundation House has been to offer professional and organisational development, consultancy and resources to assist health, education and other community service providers to respond effectively to the needs of people of refugee backgrounds.
Each year the Foundation House Learning and Organisational Development team provides around 240 sessions of Professional Development to over 5200 participants. Sessions are offered through a public calendar available on our website. Professional Development is also negotiated with individual organisations, with an emphasis on a ‘whole of organisation’ approach.
Programs offered include introductory workshops on working with people from refugee backgrounds, skills for identifying and working with people who may have experienced torture and trauma, and specialist seminars on issues such as the impact of detention and working with uncertainty.
In the 2016 Training Calendar we will be offering some new specialist workshops. These include an evening session on ‘Supporting refugees arriving from Syria’ and two free online webinars. We will still be offering all of our ‘regulars’, as well as expanding our range of evening seminars and webinars to help us reach the broadest audience. Bookings are now open and we look forward to working with you.
