In 2015, Foundation House* conducted a pilot program at two Melbourne secondary schools, Ringwood Secondary College and Dandenong High School, which focused on the inclusion of students who were newly arrived at a secondary school. A group of Year 10 students (some of whom were from refugee back-grounds) were supported to design actions and provide advice about social inclusion within the school environment. An article on this pilot program was published in the April 2016 issue of “Connect – the magazine supporting student participation” which is distributed by the Australian Centre for Educational Research.
