Seminar focuses on sexual health in refugee patients

20-Jul-2010 Dr Stella Heley, who works with the Victorian Cytology Service and is a sexual health physician with the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, will present a seminar on Sexual Health and STIs in Refugee Patients as part of the Refugee Health Series.

The Refugee Health Series, facilitated by the Northern Division of General Practice, the Dandenong Casey General Practice Association, PivotWest and Foundation House, aims to improve the management of common conditions in refugees, as well as improve the use of refugee health assessments in general practice and increase understanding of referral networks in refugee health.

The Sexual Health and STIs in Refugee Patients seminar will take place the Foundation’s Brunswick office on Wednesday August 11, between 7.15-9.15pm, and there will be time for questions and discussion.

GPs, nurses and other health practitioners working with refugee-background patients are particularly encouraged to attend.
