Our Board of Management

Foundation House is governed by an elected voluntary Board of Management of up to 12 members with diverse backgrounds, professional expertise and interests. The Agency Management Team, comprising the Director, Paris Aristotle and senior managers, works closely with the Board of Management to continuously develop the strategic approach and innovative work program of Foundation House.

In addition to its formal meetings, the Board of Management regularly forms working groups to undertake specific projects. Members also generously give of their time and networks to support and promote Foundation House.

The Board of Management currently includes the following members:

Lynne Haultain (Chair) has been a member of the Board since 1997 and Chairperson since 2000.  Lynne brings to the organisation a background in media, communications and radio broadcasting.

David Bilander is an electronic engineer and software developer and a long time member of the VFST. His extensive travel overseas has led to a heightened motivation and commitment to making an active contribution to the work of the Foundation.

Helen Casey has had extensive experience as a director and board member of statutory, union and superannuation organisations. She currently works for the Department of Justice in their Research and Evaluation Branch. Helen is also a qualified interpreter and mediator.

Michelle Groves is the Chief Executive of the Australian Energy Regulator and brings a legal and management background to her work on the Board.

Lenora Lippman is a team leader at General Practice Victoria and has worked with the VFST on a variet of projects since 1998. Lenora brings to the the organisation a background in service evaluation, planning and management, and extensive experience in the health sector.

Karen McLeod Adair has more than 30 years experience in the mining industry in Australia and overseas, across a wide range of positions including organisation development, human resources, marketing, business planning and Aboriginal affairs. She has a special interest and expertise in working across cultures.

Ian McKenzie has 40 years experience in the communication field and is a specialist in photography and cinematography. Ian's photography talent and dedicated pro bono support of Foundation House resulted in the beautiful calendars which were produced in 2003 and 2004. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Photography and has broad interests in travel, film and publishing.

Dick Sloman is a long time member and supporter of the VFST. He currently holds a position on the VFST's Institutional Ethics Committee. Dick is a general practitioner and a specialist in the area of Aboriginal health.

Genevieve Timmons has 15 years of experience with grantmaking and philanthropic foundations, as an executive manager, consultant and researcher both in Australia and internationally.  Genevieve is a Senior Fellow of the Johns Hopkins International Fellows in Philanthropy Program and a Fellow of Leadership Victoria.

Kathleen Walsh is a social worker and manager with a background in community and women's health, working with refugee communities and in international aid and development. Currently Kathleen manages the Red Cross Pacific programs and services.
